WFRP PvP?

By Crazy Aido, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Anybody else thought about how easy it would actually be to put together a party of say three adventurers and play against a freind with a similar group? I might be having a chat with some chums to see how this would work out, but I don't see it going too far wrong. I see it being:

1.Place location cards.

2. Roll iniative.

3.Movement through locations, with stealth etc.

4. Engagement of various parties.

5. Blood everywhere.

Obviously there would be a few things that need ironing out, but I don't see it as being the kind of thing that needs a seperate GM to run. Thoughts?

Obviously you can do whatever you like, but I see it as being impossible to play without a GM.

There's so much more to WFRP than 'rolling to hit' and doing damage. Even in a fight (and I assume that what's you mean by going PVP), there's a lot more to combat - or there should be - than hacking and slashing. Who's going to adjuticate the 'swinging from chandalier and dropping a chair on your head' 'stunt' action? Do my two boons cause your character to trip and land hard so that he loses his attack back? Or does it just deal one fatigue?

If you want to just fight (and I can appreciate that you may want more options than say, WFB gives you), there are still alternatives. Mordheim, for example, allows players to use gangs of Warhammer characters in fights against each other. Not quite what you were describing, but I would think much easier to get right - and so much easier to make fun.

Well PVP is more common than I like in my campaign as we have a PC who seems to want to **** most solitary or defenceless women he comes across. At least once per adventure at least one PC confronts this guy. I do believe it would need a GM to adjudicate it, otherwise it will be to rulesy and boring

We had a PvP take place in our last game and I have to say it all comes down to the players and how they can handle it...

In our situation I think the PvP was out of pure frustration at the lack of sense being made by our GM. When I opened the door and there was a dwarf Beastman singing a melody of Michael Jackson hits (yes, that's straight out of the GM's mouth) the Elf player stuck a knife in my characters back just because he couldn't punch the GM.

What happened next was a lot more fun than what the GM could do, but it was because the players knew each other well and could handle the confrontation it was going to cause. Problem players should not be handled in game, if they're causing problems you need to sit them down OOC and have the chat. Don't let it act like a cancer and kill the fun its better to lose one player than the group..
