WIP on painting the COG:s

By Oathman, in Gears of War: The Board Game

Hi all

I have now started the painting on the COG:s. The idea here is to just paint the COG:s and let the Locust be gray (for the time beeing, at least ;) ).

Finished the first COG:s late last night and here he is:

This is Damon Baird. I had a lot of truble deciding what colours to use since every picture of the characters are different lighting and different colours but then I just decided to paint him as I wanted to.

I will change the base on him later when I get some clear plastic bases, they are on the way from England...

Hmm did not get the pictures to work... what to do?

Excellent job! I wish i could paint like that! hehe

Holy crap. That's awesome. I was thinking of painting mine as well, the red is kinda blah. What did you use for an undercoat? I have the standard Citadel paint set, so I'll probably just use the black.

Hi had a look at your miniatures and the new base looks great. Can you please tell me where it came from.

Thanks

This looks sweet! I would also like to know where you got these from!?.......question...what glue did you use to keep these on so the figures don't come off the bases? I guess you will have to be careful when handling these eh? ..i really like these bases though! nice job!

Thx för the nice comments sonrojado.gif

Noxize: I used GW:s black undercoat, worked very well I must say. Then I used a mix of citadel and vallejo paints to paint the miniature. It has a lot of detail and it was fun to paint it. Sorry to say I have not been able to paint for a week now but will soon start on one more of the characters.

The base is from Fenris games, http://www.fenrisgames.com/ , it is a clear acrylic 25mm base. I then cut of the original base, fairly easy since the plastic is soft and then I drilled a hole in the foot of the miniature and a hole in the base. I put a little pin in between and some super glue and it it still in place...

thanks for the info..I will try and get me some of these bases. have a nice day!

Looking really good! I bought the game on saturday along with Dreadfleet and when I unpacked it I just knew I'd have to paint them! The only problem I really have is the colors Gears use is not the ones I normally use and thus I'm a bit stumped on which to get, greys are not my speciality. Which colors did you use? Guess I'll have to look at some screenshots and let a few drones, wretches or tickers go first.

So little time, so much to paint! But do keep updating this thread! Looks great and I look forward to more pictures :)

Gorgeous. I painted up all my Gears of War miniatures but yours is definately better. You went for a distinctly less 'gritty' feel and look too.

Love the transparent base!

This is a figure with lots of details but really fun to paint. I also changed the base to a clear one!

PS: if anyone could tell me how to post pictures in this forum I would be grateful, I use Photobucket but can´t get the images to work properly!

it is really easy to do....well...first of all, do you haev photoshop or AI ilustrator? if you do, then open the pic in one of these...go to edit, image size, then input the resolution to 800pxl . then save it. now you open the forum area wher eyou input your text, etc etc....then find your pic in your computer and drag and drop the picture onto the white text area...and that is all! i suggest changing the resolution to 800 because that is a nice size for the forum. if you have larger pics then they will show up in parts. hope this helps!

Thx Samruiz123 I think I have found how to do this now! To bad I can´t edit my earlier posts but my other posts I hope will include the pictures directly with no need to copy past links gran_risa.gif
