House Targaryen Deck

By NIGHTHAWK34SK, in 4. AGoT Deck Construction

Hi. I started playing a Constructed deck from the House Targaryen Queen of Dragons expansion set but would like to tweek it abit but would like some opinions. I am playing in a Joust style tourney this weekend.

Here is the deck with couple tweaks I already did but just to the plot deck:

Deck: Fire and Blood

Targaryen House Card

Agenda: Heir to the Throne

Plot Deck

Counting Favors

Storm of Swords

Mad Kings Legacy

Power and Wealth

Threat from the East

Valar Dohaeris

Spending the Winter Stores

Characters

3 True Queens Harbinger

1 each of Black, Green and White Hatchling

Daenerys Targaryen

3 each of Drogon, Rhaegl and Viserion

2 Advisor to the Crown

Initiate of the Citadel

Quartheen Fanatic

Khal Drogo

Viserys Targaryen

Brown Ben Plumm

Ser Barrister Selmy

Maester Aemon

Locations

3 Summer Sea

Xaro's House

Khal Drogo's Tent

3 Eastern Fiefdom

3 Kingsroad Fiefdom

Quarth

2 Yunkai

Astapor

3 Mareen

Lady Daenerys's Chamber

Events & Attachments

2 Maegi's Promise

3 Field of Fire

3 Dragon Fear

2 Sun Stroke

2 Crown of Mareen

Any suggestions as to best way to tweek it will be greatly appreciated. I did change couple characters and was thinking Dragons and Dothraki mostly.

Do you have a wide variety of CP to work from?

I think you should change a few things around... add some Black Ravens so you aren't relying on the Crown to make it Summer so the Field of Fire isnt a dead card; with all the attachment hate out there right now, it'll be pretty easy for your opponent to get rid of the Crown. I would take out the Dragon Fear to fit them in. I would also take out Selmy (just cause I think both Selmy cards kinda suck).
I would also definitely remove Valar Dohaeris - do you really want to discard all standing characters from play in a deck based on Dragons who might not be kneeling to attack? If I was your opponent, I wouldn't even challenge you that Round (unless one of us was going to win) and then watch your own plot discard all your duped Dragons. Add at least one 2-claim plot instead.

I've been playing only a couple months now with the Targ House. One thing I've noticed is that resources are key to getting your characters out there. Seems like most cards require 4 gold, but it seems like you've got it covered with your locations.

I agree with getting rid of Valar Morghulis, and I'd it replace with Focused Offense, which has a claim of 3, but you can only declare one challenge.

I agree completely with this. If this is a melee focused deck you might even consider leaving the crown in, and adding the ravens just in case. But definitely drop Valar Dohaeris. You could try subbing in a Threat from the North instead.
