Need Group for playing online with fantasy grounds II. Say Something Please. (GMT: London;Dublin;Edinburg; Lisbon).
Looking For Online Players
can't afford fantasy grounds. Whose GM'ing?
Id love to try this. What do we need to do? GMT+1 (brussels)
Need Fantasy grounds 2. I'm just player.
Do we desperately need FG2? I mean, if we're hard up for cash, can we stick everyone on a maptools server? Maybe?
I would be interested in a Maptools game! At this point I really need a group and I think playing online w/skype is a great option. The great thing about maptools is you don't even really need the maps, you could just use it the way the game was intended to be played, by describing the setting, etc..(skype) and using the maptools interface for the dice rolls and token placement.
Never tried Fantasy Grounds though, but am also intrigued. Just learned about today in fact so I am still reading up on it! : P
So, who would we have that would be willing to GM this crazy monkey?
Well let's see, I haven't GM'd ever, never played Warhammer 3e(read the rule book tho'), don't know how to start a Skype conference call, and just learned about Maptools a few days ago...
I'll do it!
I'm in Florida so for me it's gonna be eastern standard time, also I really want to start off with one of the published adventures but I am not sure what everyone here has played so it will take a little feedback to find a scenario that everyone will find enjoyable. Not to mention, the typical scheduling of a time. Right now I don't have a set work schedule---it essentially changes every month so I'm sure that will be a challenge to.
I would say to you sir...
We seem to have a european focused group here, so, either try to run one scenario on their time scale or... try something else?
But starting with one scenario is probably your best bet, all things considered.
I live in the UK and I currently run a weekly face to face game. I would love to play in an online game ( as I have never done this before), as a player ( never been just a player of 3rd ed. either).
So would be very interested if someone else runs...teaches how to do online. I have skype and play board games such as ASL online using VASSAL, so I have some experience in the concept. Never used map tools though.
So, we still need a GM. Everybody wants to be a player, just normal. For me we can use Maptools, no problem with that.
Well at least there is no shortage of players. Everyone interested can add me on Skype. My handle is "lightninlad". If you could all shoot me a message as to what time works best, that will be a place to start. Again, you will need a copy of maptools, located here: rptools.net , and Skype. I know that I will be free this Thursday, and I figure if I start a game at 12pm(EST) that would make it 5pm in London. If that's too short notice though, that's ok. Just throwing something out there. Roll up your characters, so we can talk about the usual party stuff(how the characters know each other, etc..) and we'll try to work from there.
Meanwhile, I'll brush up on the rules and try to find a worthy introductory scenario.
