Does the ability count any card played into your card pool with a block on it? or only when a card is played as a block?

It only counts cards being played as a block. It says as a block in the text, so the card must be played as a block for the effect to activate.

sorry kilik you're wrong, it does say as a block in the text of the card but thats only for IF THIS CARD was played as a block. The text he posted is the ability on the card. To answer his question, a block is a card with a Block Zone & Block modifier on it. So yes any time you play a card with a block printed on it. Now if it read: "R: Commit 1 foundaiton: after you play a [CARD AS A] block... " note the [ ]'s.

Actually the only mention of "as a block" is for you playing Jeff's Gloves in your card pool specifically:

"After you play this card as a block, add it to your staging area commited"

The R ability does not mention "as a block" at all hence why i am asking the question.

the only time you play a block is during the block step. cards are not blocks. a "block" is not a card type.

there are 5 card types: character, foundation, attack, asset, action. any of these cards may have a block printed on it,
but that does not define the card.

only when you are blocking with the card, are you ever playing the card for its block attribute.

jeff's gloves will only work on a card played as a block.

does that apply for Personal Style as well?

Completely misread that NJbrock22. you answered everything. now that i have 2 differing opinions could we get an official on it please? i am wondering not only for Jeff's Gloves but for Personal Style. I was under the assumption with Personal Style it counted the block mods of the cards for the pump.

personal style is a different ability. not the same as the gloves. the gloves only work when you play a block.

cards that refence cards WITH a block are a different issue entirely

Does Jeff's Gloves trigger off of an auto-block such as Vimana or Criminal Past? If so, WHEN does it respond: as soon as you play the enhance which will block later, or during the block step when the block actually takes place?
