How do monsters strike critical?

By Malte7, in WFRP Rules Questions

Sorry if this got already answered - I couldn't find it. Here is one thing i am curious about (please note that I haven't actually played yet) after reading the core rules.

In the bestiary and in the creature vault (I don't own the creature guide) the stats of the monster do not show a critical weapon rating - the weapon stats are integrated in the damage results. Now my question - how do I know a monster achieves a critical hit? I don't know how many bones it would need, right?

thanks for you help

Malte

Usually the specific monster cards that a monster is using indicates how a crit may be triggered. Absence of this information might imply that it is not possible for the monster to achieve a crit.

However - I recall somewhere in the rulebook that the result of a "Sigmar's Comet" can be used to trigger a critical hit for an attacker. I usually use this.

Also - the equipment list has a CR rating (typically 2 boons for 2-handers, 3 boons for 1 handed weapons) that could be applied if the monster was armed.

yeez, you guys are quick! thanks for your answer.

Also, dont forget that Monster Action Cards may cause criticals as well.
