Horse And Cart

By galladril2, in Talisman

Can a player have more than one horse and cart?

No limits on Followers, Sorceress can hoard them like there is no tomorrow, and usually does.

On a side note, anybody think it's funky that Thief (also Merchant) can get a Mule from Village, even though it's not normally available?

Chock it up to another space that needs revision? :)

Well, I do kinda think a Village probably has a Mule or two, given the time period gui%C3%B1o.gif , but still would've preferred the characters to be limited to what's listed on the location.

The Merchant can only exchange Objects for Objects, so he can have a Mule at the Village, Market or Market Day. But he can have a Raft at the Village.

On the contrary the problem with the Thief exists... it's kind of strange. Perhaps he should choose an item he can buy at Village, Market or Market Day.

It's not an overpowered ability and I'm sure there are some Mules to be stolen at the Village, so I will follow the rules.

Oops. I mean he can't have a Mule. Now I can't edit my last post.

Eh? My Merchant reads:

"Village... discard one of your own Objects to take any one Object from the Purchase deck." (emphasis added)

And what the Thief card says?

"One card of your choice from the Purchase deck."

Wait. Has the Mule become an Object once again in revised 4th edition?

I say the Merchant can't take the Mule because it's a Follower, not an Object. The Thief can take "a card" and the Mule is included in the category.

Whoops sonrojado.gif ! Those peasants sure love their Mules, won't trade one even for a kewl Solomon's Crown, but the silly Blacksmith will trade Helmet for Armour.
