I recently acquired a Princes of the Sun Premium Starter and was shocked that the card borders were white and even more appalled at the flimsy card stock. Why did they change from black to white border? Why the lesser quality in card stock??? Sigh...
What's up with the white border and flimsy card stock???
You know that big global recession we've been experiencing for the last few years? Company's have needed to try and save money, I would hazard that this card stock is cheaper. Though to be frank, there's nothing wrong with it, the cards are perfectly fine.
The borders changed years ago with the switch to LCG to help distinguish between it and the CCG, who cares?

I care too, in the sense that I vastly prefer the white borders, and hope they change the ACoA packs to white borders for the reprint. That would be reason enough for me to get a whole set, even if I already own three of some of the packs.
This was the funniest tempest in a teapot ever around here. people were seriously arguing adn complaining about the border color for weeks in the summer of 2008. It was about a ten page thread regarding an issue that had zero effect on the game itslef. Good times.

Didn't it come up again just recently? I remember people were quite serious about it. ~I missed my chance then to announce to the world that I'm firmly in white border camp, so I decided I'd let people know how I feel in this thread. White Borders all the Way! Die, Black Border Lovers!

I do care about that too.
However i support the point to have "either" white "or" black border colours and if FFG would change the black border sto white borders for that one set i think it would be okay and in an aestethical way more pleasing than a wild mix of both in the deck.
That being said: ~Black borders for the win !!! ;-)

White power?
Nonono. White border power. There's quite a huge difference.
Oh come on, we all know that black borders are better. ![]()
No, but for real. It's not worth arguing since they'll never change back, but black does look much better.
Pink borders! Who's with me?

Maybethey would b fitting for a Renly Baratheon & Knight o flowers theme deck....
Boarder color does not matter becasue I cut them off to fit the cards in Yu-Gi-Oh Sleeves!
Seriously, I hated this change on the CoC cards becasue it gives them less of a dark feel... and Cthulhu based stuff should be dark.
However, with AGoT the white reminds me of snow, which reminds me... do I really need to say it?
I guess I missed the 10 page thread back in 2008 as I had just quit a month or two before it happened.
Yeah, the mixing of the new cards with my old ones doesn't sit quite well, and black bordered cards are more pleasing for me to look at. A lot of my old meta got disappointed with the white borders.

I'd like to think of it as a treat for Bolton fans.

Well played. Human leather playmats as prizes at the next GenCon? And tokens made from bone.

Made from the skin and bone of the losers in swiss. If you don't make the cut, you get cut. Fits nicely with the win-or-die theme. Or maybe they should just carve up the loser of the finals. If the stakes get higher, the risk increases too... plus, it's sweet to get to take your fiercest opponent home with you that way. And it would take care of the whole kingmaking business in Melee once and for all. Wow. There's really no downside to this idea at all.

~Okay, i whole heartedly support this idea. Let´s have pink borders and the special tokens. The only supported playformat in the future will be highlander format, it wouldn´t matter at all if you chose melee or joust.
