Anyone have a link?

Im looking for clarification on certain traits and card text. Mainly the Armies. Is there anything special about that trait other than the high str that most of them possess? It seems odd that a single character can attack or defend vs an entire army in challenges.

Forgive the newbness that is I...

Traits really don't mean anything in and of themselves. There's nothing about the Army trait itself (or Lord, or Traitor, or Knight, or Bastard) that effects the card.

Traits are important because of effects and abilities that target specific traits. So for instance, there is a plot Muster the Realm: "Players cannot initiate military challenges unless they control an Army character." Or the location High Ground: "Challenges: Kneel High Ground to choose and stand an in-house Army character." Outside of cards and abilities that effect Armies, they are generally just high-cost, high strength characters.

Considering that the STR on Army characters run all the way down to 2, it's kind of hard to even generalize "high STR" on them.

You cannot tell anything about a card based on its traits, really. Traits mean absolutely nothing by themselves. There is nothing inherently different about a 3-STR Army character with MIL and POW icons compared to a 3-STR Ally character with MIL and POW icons. Traits are simply a way for card effects to interact with cards.

The Army trait doesn't mean anything until you actually play a card that refers to characters by the Army trait.

There is nothing "collective" about a character with the Army trait, but if you need to think of a "real" situation where an individual stood up to an Army or a mob, consider the scene in the books where Tyrion talks about 15 Clansmen out of killing him and Bronn. Or think about how Jaime walked into a camp and effectively took control of an entire siege army.
