Painted Figures

Hey, great paint job! I just finished a few myself.

The reaper figure is the Angel of Death from Reaper minis. It has large Dragon like wings that I just left off and covered the holes. It is much bigger than the original figure, and I just played a game Monday with 5 people and everyone loved the big reaper running around the board!

Nice work, I like the idea of a bigger reaper as he sometimes gets a bit lost on the board.

Are you re-basing the figures? I've thought about putting additional bases on the figures myself. I was thinking of wooden bases simular to what you see on chess pieces (though I have no idea where I would find something like this). I was also thinking I would repaint the original bases bronze if I did this.

Thanks,

It was fun to see my friends reactions to the painted pieces!

I got some small sized Games Workshop bases without slots cut in them and just glued them to the top, I also cut a circle of felt to put on the bottom so the board did not get scratched as the edges of the bases are kind of sharp.

I am thinking about using the non glare Plexiglass sheet that I use for D&D & SW minis ( I put it over the folded maps to make a level paying surface and protect them form rips)

As for other bases you might try a craft store they usually have wooden blocks and unfinished wood pieces. I am not sure where you live, but a Joann’s or Michael’s in my area would have something like this. Heck event the big box stores have a pretty big craft section. I got to the local train & airplane hobby stores and even a local military miniatures store just to get a large variety of basing materials.

nice work almost art gran_risa.gif
