Just wanted a quick clarification.
For a power challenge, lets say its the first round of the game, no one has power on either of there house cards. If you initiate a power challenge and win, do you claim power from the bank since there is none on his house card ?
Im assuming this is how it works? Basically just the power on the house card is taken if its there if its not then you take from bank.
No. If you win a power challenge, the claim effect is that he (the losing defender) takes a power from his house card and moves it to yours. If he has no power on his house, he gives you none.
You may still claim power for unopposed challenges (those are from the power pool), renown (likewise), dominance or a variety of other mechanics in the game.

But you do that for any unopposed challenge, regardless of type.
I am aware of that. The difference is, it's the only challenge type that inevitably rewards power for not having anything for the claim effect(ignoring the fact it's possible to have characters out that cannot be killed), unlike the Power and Intrigue challenges where you are not always rewarded for winning it just because the opponent has no Power on his house or cards in his hand since he can still defend it.
Nevermind. I was just trying to justify ktom's "wonder".
