Got a player who is playing a pit fighter and has gone down the two handed route. We're only beginning our third session and (using his experience) he already appears to have all the two handed styles.

What have other groups done about this?

Specify what parameters is this hero. What are its characteristics. What cards purchased.

Well, most melee action cards are non specific as to what weapons are usable with the card. Most just require a melee weapon (which includes 2h weapons), so there should be plenty of cards that a 2h fighter can purchase and use and many of them are really good even if they are not especially made for 2h weapons.

Also, since there is a restriction on how many action cards you can buy per rank the character should have plenty of action cards to purchase.

Oh and Omens of War includes several 2h actions by the way.

But if you give us more details on what supplements you own, what he has purchased and so on maybe we can give you some more ideas.

Any of the agility based attacks might suit him aswell, since it would suit him well to have an agility of at least 4 and coordination, just sayin'.

Not sure exactly of what he has got but we've looked at the cards in more detail and he does have a wider range of styles to choose from - just not 2 handed specific. Therefore I've got enough to keep him happy.

Also keep in mind that Action card Traits are not restrictions/requirements. Thus, the "Way" cards that are thematically "for the Swordsmaster" can actually be used by anyone, not just an elven Swordsmaster. Assuming your player is using a greatsword, there are some handy Greatsword (and some generic 2-handed weapon) action cards among those.

While the way of the sword cards are quite fantastic and I would, unlike the ancestor cards, allow thier use by all and sundry, don't forget they only confer benefits on other way of the sword actions.
