Those who walked amongst us

By Sebashaw, in Anima: Beyond Fantasy RPG

I have been sitting on pins and needles waiting for this, i almost thought that boat was on the ocean floor. Huzzah!

At least I'm certain I'll get a copy soon, I have resources that'll get it for me, so...

Does anyone have any idea when this will hit UK shelves?

Nope, sorry, I'm an American. Therefore, I don't pay attention to that stuff...

Okay, enough of that, sorry about that. What I mean is I don't know when it'll hit the shelves in the UK, mostly because I don't live there and mostly because I'm interested in the American releases.

Yeah... that was helpful.

Sorry to disappoint, really, I just don't know when.

you don't need to tell anyone when you don't know something. just sayin'.

Ah, right... thanks for the reminder, brewmaster_vitty.

Well I saw dominus exxet on shelves a month or two after it was released on here.

I can't wait for this book to hit www.amazon.com

FFG books are usually cheaper there [no offense FFG]

FRPGames has it in stock now and only US$5 or so more than Amazon's likely price. You should also get the book 4 to 8 weeks earlier than Amazon.com.

Is it just me, or did my copy seem to be the only one from Amazon so far?

I mean, I got the Paperback edition, guys, so...

Sorry, but I am in the USA. I will get purchases from Amazon.com pretty quickly if I pay for it.

I was referring to the fact that Amazon.com lists Anima books 4 to 8 weeks before FFG and most internet gaming stores based on previous Anima book releases. So you will get it 4 to 8 weeks later (but you will save $5) even if you live in the US if you stick with Amazon.

No, FRPGames has it: http://frpgames.com/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=75842 (and its listed at $10 less than the Amazon reseller). Noble Knight Games are getting it in a day or so and there are other stores with it.

As for why Amazon has it listed as softcover, I have no idea, but given how unreliable Amazon is with preorders I would ignore it as a glitch.

Huh. News to me.

Maybe it's because I live near Seattle, but that hasn't been an issue for me in the past, Skywalker.

EDIT: Also, I think I might as well discount that as a glitch, anyway...

I am not trying to slam Amazon. I order from it all the time. But they aren't very good for preorders of RPGs. Amazon has released every Anima book so far has been 4 to 8 weeks later than it is available everywhere else in the US.

That's not counting Amazon resellers, but they don't give you the Amazon discount or shipping rates (and are often more expensive than the alternatvies as seen here).

Just to give an example, Dominus Exxet was released by FFG on 3 June 2011 as seen here - http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=2329 . FRPGames and NobleKnight stocked it a few days later. Amazon stocked it on 19 July as seen here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1589947592/ref=s9_simh_gw_p14_d0_g14_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1SCFZKGE7RE3WY2SZJQ0&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846 .

So, if Those Who Walked Amongst Us is announced as being released on 16 September: http://new.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=2656 then I would expect Amazon to get it around 1 November if the same delay occurs.

Well, I wasn't trying to accuse you or anything, keep that in mind.

Though, I do find it weird how I had ordered a copy of the book with which it was the only available copy, and I don't really know how to make sense of when it'll arrive.

Still, I'd rather not get into an argument, so...

I think the book you bought was from an Amazon reseller i.e. a store that sells through Amazon, rather than Amazon itself. In this case it was MAM Enterprises JB Cards. They also sell through eBay here: http://myworld.ebay.com/jandbcards/ .

I think you are pretty safe as they are still selling through Amazon, so its not just one copy. They have just got the book in the usual timeframe like the other stores I mentioned.

That's all cool, but its not what most people mean when they say to buy from Amazon to get cheap shipping and 33% off. :)

Hmm... I gotta look that up.

*goes to look it up*

Yep, you got it right, Skywalker. Don't know why I missed it, but that doesn't matter now, so...

Good luck. I know I will be buying mine as soon as NKG lists it :)

Actually, I got mine through the reseller, apparently.

Don't know how that happened...

That is why I dont "pre-order".

I got the last book, Dominus Exxet through an Amazon reseller. It was ordered for me by a lady friend in Canada. I got it here in a suburb of Chicago, Il., 2-3 business days later.

Okay, not to sound like a newb, but how long is a business day again?

I mean, I'm not in the working world yet, so...
