CP policy

By Rozy, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

When the new CP is available in the shop I thought that we would know exactly what is in it? Is not that part of the LCG policy? Knowing what cards you buy.

I can see now the new CP in the store but except some spanish spoiler in Rules Discusion, I dont know what is in there. Where is the missing piece? I thought that FFG should always announce the content of a CP before releasing it. But all what the official board shows are 3 cards of 20.

I agree. I want to know before what is inside a CP, so I can decide if I want to buy it or how many boxes to buy. Hope FFG will hear your point. Wish they were posting spoilers for CP's something like cards are posted on the tzumainn.com website, with its text and art.

I don´t see it as a "must" to release the full content of a card set before it´s street date, but i must admit that i always found it strange that the full contents of a CCG/ LCG product can´t be found on the publishers (FFG´s) homepage. Especially since it seems to be part of the marketing programm of other publishers which are also selling collectable card products to do so.

Anyway it would be nice to have some offficial content lists for the chapter packs, a lot of newcomers are also repeatedly asking what can be found in the chapter packs.

Just to make this issue more important for FFG I also say: Please publish the content of the CPs on the website!

Well, maybe one of us who bought new CPs could publish the contents in the forum, at least it would be a great help to know, which cards are singles and which ones I get three times in a CP. A information I am missing on tzumainn.

I also would like to know whats in it once it releases.

I would also like a chekclist of all the other cards in other CPs and the COre Set to show up on the support page. FFG should really provide this inof and the only reason it hasn't been a bigger issue for me is the effort of JersulemJones and Tzumain who make this info (either through spoilers when opening packs or hosting the info after spoiled) accessible.

Since I'm opening my pack now I may as well write up what's in it:

thanks a lot. I really like Dawn and Tower of Joy, and its nice to see a plot in the same CP that keeps them from being too strong (i.e. not a silver bullet, and no need for power level discussions).

The rookery's look interesting, not sure if there are a lot of plots (in LCG) that i want to be revealing in the challenge phase though (maybe to turn around the plots quicker, maybe), but i think this is more a part of my next comment being able to reveal those plots after drawing the event).

I am very dissapointed by the continued evidence of the lack of foresight on FFG's part about roation and we now have more reveal traited plot effects for our 1 plot that has a reveable trait (1 for each trait)....

You're welcome.

In the LCG you could still get some pretty swingy plays by revealing a 2 claim plot, Valar, or Wildfire. The rookeries seem pretty decent. I initially thought that the major houses were at a bit of a disadvantage due to having the rookeries that require you to lose a challenge, but now I'm thinking about it as a threat: "If you power challenge me I'll pop my rookery for Valor." I think I'd have to see them in actual play to really assess how good they actually are.

The events that trigger off plot traits really are irritating. I'm going to have to go back and buy Ancient Enemies to have it even make sense including them in a deck. If you're going to have a full quarter of a chapter pack reference a particular trait, you should **** well have at least one card that has that trait in the pack.

Wow... isn't this a little bit much to ask of FFG? How much easier do they need to make this game to buy?

It was never FFGs policy to reveal the contents of anything. I don't know where that idea came from. Usually one of us gets the honor of spoiling them on the boards when packs are received.

Personally, I like being surprised when I open my own packs.

Dragonstone Rookery -- is this supposed to reference power challenge plot cards rather than military battle plot cards as spoiled?

Also, does Heart of the Kingdom's text really allow for you to kneel the opponent's kingdom locations to trigger its effect, or is there a "you control" missing? :-)

I too am disappointed by the complete lack of appropriately traited plots, to say nothing of revealable ones. A Ravens block legacy pack with a bunch of the 5KE military battle/power struggle/intrigue gambit plots, in addition to the basic Greyjoy and Martell necessary to make those decks, would be a simple fix that would go a long way in releaving some of the "horrible state of the game" discussion amongst those players who have stuck around through all these recent changes to the game.

Thanks for the spoilers Illykai.

Interesting concepts for this CP. I wish there was a bit more Summer/Winter interaction, but plot card manipulation seems fun as well.

As a Baratheon player its nice to finally see King Renly, but overall... I think Stannis will remain the king to play for me!

Dragonstone Rookery: Am I missing the reference to the Military Battle plot card? As far as I see, none of the Rookerys deal with traited plots at all. Now, I'd tend to agree that the reference to losing a military challenge in the spoiler should probably be a reference to losing a power challenge , but you comments about plot traits has me confused.

Heart of the Kingdom: Kneeling the Kingdom location is a cost of the ability. You cannot pay costs with cards you do not control. So whether the spoiler is missing a "that you control" or not, the card itself doesn't need it. (Think of it this way; when a card says "kneel 1 influence to X" without actually specifying "that you control," are you reaching across the table to kneel your opponent's Crossroads in order to use your effect?)

Thank a lot Illykai for spoiling the contents fof the chapter packs.

I´m also dissapointed about that, in fact i formerly discussed the matter with Ktom here www.tzumainn.com/agot/cards/card.php . I would be really glad if we could get at least a "temporarily errata" (like the Davos VE one) in the LCG FAQ which allows some additional military battle, intrigue gambit and power struggle plot cards. I would also like to see a temporarily treaty rule for the houses Greyjoy and Martell. Of course erratas are never the best choice for a game, but i think in this special situation this would allow especially "LCG only" players a better playing experience and would create a larger card pool (- all chapter pack cards can be used) to build decks.

The whole errata thing wouldn´t only make sense in my book considering only the three event cards that were released in the latest chapter pack, but also for other cards like Dacey Mormont which finally receives a game text for the LCG enviroment.

@ktom: good call on both counts, i did get "power challenge" and "power struggle" confused
