I Love the Sheer Unpredictability of Arkham

By gforce200, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

As a solo player, I love the unpredictable nature of this game. I have about 10 plays under my belt with two wins but it amazes me how unique the games can be even when using the same expansions multiple times in a row.

I played the last two games with the King in Yellow (first time), Dunwich Horror, and Miskatanic expansions. The first game lasted about 20 turns and I never had any reason to even look at the first Act card. I ended up losing during the Ancient One battle. I picked new inspectors and reset the game. This time, the first act was playing after the second mythos came out (I paid a doom token to stop it coming out on inital mythos card draw), and the second act began when The Next Act Begins card showed up on turn 3 and Act 3 came crashing down and bringing the game to an end after another The Next Act Begins card came into play after the sixth round. I just shook my head and took the beating!

Time to reset for another go with a new Ancient One and four new investigators....what will Arkham have for me next.

yes Arkham is very surprising and has many evil combo moves like some kind of Tekken superguru. At other times it just rolls over and shows its belly like a pup. Enjoy and welcome!
