I pity the FU who doesn't play this game!

By Bloody Sun Boy, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

It's been discussed elsewhere on the forums that one of the unique (and very appealing) elements of WFRP3e's new dice mechanics is that it creates something more than simple "Yes/No" or "Pass/Fail" resolution. Because of the introduction of Boons and Banes, we introduction a finer gradation of results to any given dice roll. The potential results in 3rd Edition have been described as:

1) Yes, and...

2) Yes

3) Yes, but...

4) No, but...

5) No

6) No, and...

Well, guess what! There another RPG out there now that uses this same gradation of dice results! And what's even better? It's FREE!!!

It's called "FU: Free, Universal Roleplaying Game", written by Nathan Russell and it's quite a delightfully clever game. You can view the website and download the game at the link below:

Oh yeah, and Nathan has already written both "Star Wars" and "The Matrix" conversions for it, which are also available on the main site!

I highly recommend any fans of WFRP3e check it out! It won't cost you a thing and it's not a particularly long read!

The mechanic below might be very handy for determination of chaos star/bane/boon/comet effects when my brain's running a little dry. I currently use the Players Guide chart, but this might give me some expansion of my d10.

From page 11:"

Roll Do you get what you want?
6 Yes, and... You get what you want, and something else.
4 Yes... You get what you want.
2 Yes, but... You get what you want, but at a cost.
5 No, but... You don’t get what you want, but it’s not a total loss.
3 No... You don’t get what you were after.
1 No, and... You don’t get what you want, and things get worse."
