i looked at the faq first and it awsered a couple of my questions on the arborec. like the duha menaion(flagship) producing groundforces, groundforces haveing production while in space. the flagship and groundforces only working with production in the same system as spacedocks. i think its the concensis that spacedocs may produce mechinized units?

however the stacking of groundforces confuses me. i get that two groundforces do not equil 2 production and 8 , 8.

spacedocs just like groundforces are assigned a planet or capacity. if we have one groundforce on planet A one on planet B and lets say one on a cruiser in orbit.

does each get a individual production? this could result in stacking ie. 2 cruisers .

is it, no matter what the entire system has, its only raised by one, pick a location? (important in blockading situations, where this question came up)

or is both true, each planet gets a production of one per groundforce so long as nothing stacks.

ie. planet A builds 1 groundforce for the price of one, planet B builds a groundforce for another resource and finnaly the one in space builds a cruiser . but never more than 1 per location (planet or space)

can this be considered no stacking?

if so, where does capacity fit into this.

When you activate a system, you are able to build 1 unit per Arborec ground force in that system. You're limited to 1 space dock per planet true enough, but you have no such limitation on your ground force units. As long as they're present, they can build.

This is correct.

What this means for the Arborec is they can get a theoretically unlimited build limit but the only time that really matters is when trying to build fighter fleets in which the Arborec ground forces build capacity of 1 means they will be paying a premium of 1 resource per fighter.

This is where capacity matters. A space dock with capacity 4 can build 4 fighters for 2 resources where as 4 Arborec ground forces would have to pay 4 resources as each ground force only has capacity to build 1 unit.

The build limit is crazy. Especially, with their racial tech. The spread like mad. A build limit of 20+ is not that hard to do.

That won't affect your ability to build GFs, of course, but it will still cost you 20 resources for those 20 GFs, which is a bit pricey.

Bottom line, they have a racial incliniation for expanding (which makes sense given their fluff), but they still have to pay an equivalent price to do it.

How does the planetary production limit work with the Arborec then?

As was my understanding, building at a Space Dock is the space dock value + the planetary value…

Do the Arborec have a similar restriction?

The Arborec production limit of their Ground Forces is 1 each. These can NOT be pooled. To buid 4 new GF units using existing GF's a player would need to have 4 GF's in place and spend 4 resources.

This does change dramatically if they get one of their racial techs. It raises the production limit of their GF's to 2. So with the racial the previous situation would be that to produce 4 new GF's they would only need to have 2GF's and spend 2 resources.

Arborec GF's left to their own devices for too long can quickly become a nigh-impenetrable plant (as opposed to meat) shield when each GF can produce 2 new ones each round. Exponential growth.
