Rules Questions...again!

By Tywyll, in Anima: Beyond Fantasy RPG

Character can see supernatural and block energy. An AoE spell comes at him and his three friends nearby (who cannot see the spell headed their way). He blocks successfully. What happens?

a) The entire spell is destroyed

b) He is unaffected, but the burst still hits his mates

c) Something else?

Character wants to cast a spell. It's an Average difficulty to cast at 80' and at the next difficulty level, its 300'. If the target is 100' away, do they really need the full extra 40 points to cast the spell?

Cheers!

B - he blocks only the part that would have hit him.

Yes, you need the extra 40 points, unless the GM says otherwise.

Anyone else have a different opinion?

New question: how fast to you regenerate KI? In the main book, it seems like one point an hour. But DE seems to be saying one point per hour, per Ki pool (so, potentially 6 an hour). This is further backed up by the change in regeneration rates if you use the single ki pool rule, where you can get like one every few rounds if you have put enough CP into Ki Recovery.

The core book says one point an hour for each characteristic . You have 6 characteristics with Ki-points, so you would regenerate 6 points an hour. The regeneration in DE explains, how regeneration is with the optional rule "generic ki-points". Because with this rule, you don't have 6 different ki-reserve (one for each characteristic) but one big generic ki-reserve. So you would regenerate 6 points an hour in this generic pool (or 1 every 10 minutes).

Question about Special Equipment:

In the increased areas the bonuses for each +5 for weapons it is listed as +1 AT.

Is that only for shields? Or is it an inheritant bonus that the sword allows the user to defend himself better?

Also for a weapon master to buy a Martial Art, would they first have to purchase the Unarmed weapon style?

No, Unarmed Weapon is automatically part of a Martial Art.

So, try to learn at least a single base martial art in place of unarmed weapon style.

Awesome! And what about the special weapon?

Also, Helmets!

When a person does get hit in the head, do they add the AT from the helmet AND the armor? or is it just the Helmet?

1. Every +5 a weapon has does not increase your armor by 1, it decreases your opponents armor by 1. For example a +5 sword attacking someone with CUT 1 AT they would count as having CUT 0 AT against your sword.

2. Special weapons have to be bought individually, just like everything else (I think, I don't completely understand the question).

3. A person only applies their armor bonus where they have the armor. This means that a person only applies their Helmets AT when hit on the head, unless they have more than one helmet on as that the AT bonuses do stack (but so do penalties). This also means if struck in the leg while they have a Shirt type armor they do not gain any AT from the armor.

I think that's all the questions posed...
