Temple Guard

By tako, in Warhammer Invasion Rules Questions

Hi All,

Just wanted to check if we have played this correctly:

Player A (Dwarf) the following setup:
Battlefield:
- Troll Slayer (Battlefield. This unit gains 2 while you have at least two developments in this zone)
- 2 developments -> Troll Slayer has 3 power
Kingdom:
- Temple Guard (Action: Spend 1 resource to redirect the next 2 damage dealt to target unit you control to another target unit you control)
- Attachment: Cloak of Feathers (Attach to a target Lizardmen unit. Attached unit gains Savage 2 (whenever this unit is dealt damage, it may deal 2 damage to target unit in any corresponding zone)
- Blood Shrine of Sotek (Your Lizardmen units in this zone gain +1 hit points) -> Temple Guard has 4 HP
-
He has 1 resource.

During an action window, the following happens:
- Player B (Chaos) as active player plays Blood for the Blood God (Action: Choose a target unit in any battlefield. Deal damage to that unit equal to its power) to destroy the troll slayers. He declares the action and targets Troll Slayers.
- Player A responds by triggering the Temple Guard Action. He pays one resource and declares Troll Slayer as target and Temple Guard as receiver of the dealt damage.
- Actions resolve last in, first out
- Temple Guard resolves first, basically establishing the shield for Troll Slayers
- Blood for the Blood God resolves, dealing 3 damage to Troll Slayers, the first 2 of which are redirected to Temple Guard, the third is dealt to Troll Slayers
- Cloak of Feathers kicks in, and Temple Guard deals 2 damage to a unit in Player B’s Kingdom zone

Questions:
1. Is the above sequence correctly played?
2. Is it correct that Player B has to declare the target when he plays the action? Or can he wait until the action resolves?
3. Is it correct the Player A needs to declare both target of protection and target of damage when he playe the action?

Thanks!
Christian

1- Yes

2- Yes

3- Yes

Any target of an action must be declared when you play the action. So each time you see the word "target" on a card you have to declare it when you play the card.

In your Temple guard exemple :

- Temple Guard (Action: Spend 1 resource to redirect the next 2 damage dealt to TARGET unit you control to another TARGET unit you control)

Got it, thanks for the explanation!
