Incorporeal undead

By Kladan, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Hi, all

I'm looking for an incorporeal undead of some sort - a low-level ghost, spirit or a banshee or something like that to throw at my players. Unfortunately I only own the Core Box and that only has mandatory skeletons, zombies and ghouls. Where can I find me some quality baddies to put some chill in my players' blood?

Thanks!

It's not that hard to come up with some yourself.

You can take a creature from the core set and just tweak it's abilities. like making it cause fear or terror and change an action to also give stress or make the characters lose initiative. or make em cause some conditions, like staggered or such.

Just be creative. I will create you a banshee of some sort later. Gotta prepare dinner just now... ;-)

Another scenario twin that I ran that makes an excellent 'ghost' theme is:

"A Dog Eat Dog World" (download wfrp fan scenario) combined with "Howls in the Night" (Ravenloft scenario available online).

SPOILERS:

Dog eat dog has the traditional werewolf theme (fine, but I didn't want it). I removed it and used the ghost from Howls in the Night instead. It has 'bog hounds' which are manifestations of the bogs (sticks, mud..shaped like dogs). Once the PCs round up the body of the dead woman, the ghost stops haunting and the bog hounds leave.

There is also a spirit haunting issue in Revenant (Liber Fanatica #7..look online).

Thanks a bunch for suggestions!

I'm hesitant to create the monster myself just because I'm only starting out with WFRP 3 and don't have the feel for the system quite yet.

In terms of the scenario - thanks a lot for the link, it seems like a nice adventure, but I'm looking for something a bit more menacing in terms of my ghost. Socratim, if you could give that banshee a try I would be super appreciative and promise to follow up with a story of how it worked out :)

I have the following use in mind : In my scenario a priest of Morr has gone slightly insane from constant paranoia of suspecting townsfolk around him to be chaos cultists. As a result he obtained a rare elven plant and performed a ritual with it that was supposed to cleanse the thoughts of everyone around him. Obviously due to him teetering on the brink of madness the ritual backfired big time and instead started raising the dead in the Garden of Morr around the temple. Seeing that effect the priest said screw it, bolted the door to the temple shut and hung himself. The plant however is still there, powering the undead active in town, still subsisting on the ritual's energies. My thought is that once the players find the secret entrance to the temple and remove/destroy the plant, unpowering the ritual, a vengeful spirit appears. The spirit should be very tough, practically impossible to defeat by mortal means, but maybe could be affected with a proper prayer to Morr, since the action will be taking place inside a temple. Basically I want something to scare the crap of my players, hopefully give them lots of Stress and maybe an Insanity or two. Well, writing this out was useful if for nothing else then to get my thoughts in order :)

If anyone could suggest a proper monster to use I would be super grateful.

Cheers!
