Hi, I tried searching for this quesiton but couldn't find any good information. When there is only 2 ppl left on the battle royale ending does each time a player attacks the other player count as a turn? Why I'm asking is if the chars which are allowed to draw spells in the beginning of their turns are able to do so?
Battle Royale turns
Good question, which has in fact been asked before. Though if there ever was an official response I am unable to find it. Battle royale is not turn based in the normal sense. So how do you take into consideration things as you mentioned such as drawing spells, effects of spells, potions, being toaded etc? Since it is unclear and there is apparently yet to be an official response that I am aware of, here is what I suggest:
Each attack counts as a turn. Any spells or effects do not carry over to the next attack. It is only considered "your turn" if you win a battle and are in the position to choose your next opponent. So by winning battles you are winning extra turns. Therefore, if you have an ability to draw a spell at the start of your turn, you may only do so if you are the one choosing the next battle. Also, if a character is toaded, they must win 3 battles before they can turn back to normal, so they are pretty much toast... Nasty toadify spell... better hope it doesn't backfire!
Ye that is pretty much how we have been playing the battle royale, but there is a big BUT. This way of playing counting each battle as a seperate turn gives a great advantage to craft casters because with the battle royale ending they are able to fight in psycic combat even if they don't have it as a skill. Usually the casters are balanced around that heavy casters cant attack in psycic. And when there is only 2 players left they must take turns attacking which gives the craft casters an upper hand because they can draw and use any number of powerful spells each time it's their turn to attack.
I'm thinking about balacing it by only allowing the spells that the players had when the battle royale occured to be played and no new spells can be drawn. But this may cause a imbalance on the other way not sure.
