Mounted combat and normal action cards?

HAI.

With Omens of War we've got mounted combats together with some action cards with the trait mounted and a requisite of being mounted.

Where does this leave all the other action cards we have?

The easy way of looking at this is simply to say that the specific cards with the mounted requisite obviously cannot be done while on foot and everything else is just fair game.

This specific conundrum came up with the Cut & Run action card which state that "you may disengage from the target for free". I figure I'll just let it ride no matter if the character is mounted or on foot but am looking for your opinion.

Thanks.

I'd say that all other action cards can be used from horseback as well. The Cut & Run action could just be a ride-by attack where you hit your opponent but do not stop in the engagement, but rather disengage after the hit.

There might be some actions where an increase in difficulty would be appropriate if trying to use them from horseback, and there might be some that might not even be possible to use when mounted. I have no examples right now though as I don't have my cards/books here.

Talk to the player before they take a dodgy sounding action, just in case you can see definite examples of abuse, for this kind of thing, better judgement is just going to have to prevail.

*nervous grin*

You know, that thing that we all have.

Sheild bind springs to mind as an action that just wouldn't work. How the flip do you perform that action being three feet above him?
