Fury of the White Wolf

By Cecil, in WFRP Rules Questions

I find the Rank 1, Ulric prayer of Fury of the White Wolf a bit weird and wondering how you guys use it.

The card says:

Effect: While this blessing is recharging, you gain the frenzied condition. This card recharges when you are no longer engaged with an enemy.

Frenzy only give bonuses in damage.

As I see it you only get frenzy when you are not engaged with an enemy? Am I doing it wrong?

Hello

No, it not. "Recharged" means that the card is with 0 tokens on it and be used again as a action. This spell means that you have to be engaged with a enemy OR the spell ends and must be casted again.

As long as you are engaged with an enemy, the card is recharging, as in you are removing a recharge token from it every turn.

When you are no longer engaged with an enemy, the card recharges fully, as in you take all the recharge tokens from it no longer affects you, meaning you have to cast it again.

Also, Ulrican preists should have a higher than average strength and mediocre fellowship, the better to benefit from their low powered spells that boost their combat ability. This means you can role 4 reckless dice at rank one, with potential bonus damage for each teardrop. Food for thought.

This is not possible according to the official rules, since any effect can be applied only once, so according to raw rules, you can only benefit from 1 drop symbol per round. I houseruled that for this power you can benefit at the most of 2 drop symbols per round, but also you need to pay fatigue for them, that means that if you have 2 or more in the result of your roll, you need to pay for them. That is the meaning of fury in my opinion, it makes you dish out more damage, but also fatigue you more than others, and also, it is uncontrollable, since you cant control how much fatigue you spend. However, i also houseruled, that should you happpen to roll a sigmar comet when casting, or roll too many boons, you can benefit for the 2 drops symbols if they appear, but only pay for 1, since your fury is not so tiresome.

I'd let that slide, but then you probably already guessed that.

+2 damage for teardrop, still max one fatigue despite multiple tears, the daft fool will drop eventually. As well as go out of his mind.
