Two End Games for Frozen Wastes

By guest530780, in Runebound

If you haven't read the rules pdf or seen the similar posting on BoardGameGeek, Frozen Wastes does have two ways to "win."

Besides just gathering clues and finding the princess to return to Arshan, the ending featured here at FFG in the preview article, you can opt to have a showdown with Arshan and beat him. And any guy who mopes and whines for centuries over being stood up by a woman to the point that he goes mad probably deserves a good smackdown.

His woman trouble is very similar to that of Ronan, although to be truthful Ronan's never had much luck at getting any woman interested in him, much less a princess.

Ronan had woman trouble? I must have missed that... gui%C3%B1o.gif

Good to hear. I thought bothering to find the princess to pacify Arshan was kind of lame. I wish you could also take on Sarscha.

WTF is ronan (dont ask YES i am VERY new)

Ronan is of course Ronan of the Wild, the ranger character in Runebound. In 1st edition, he had such poor stats compared to some of the other characters that we quickly began calling him "Ronan of the Mild." I became president of the Ronan of the Mild Fan Club, and as such, became privy to the goings on between Ronan and his weasel sidekick, known only as the weasel.

When the two began having a falling out, the weasel began to spread tales of Ronan's amorous misadventures with some of the female heroes in Terrinoth. The stories are too dark, long, and heart-wrenching to go into here, I'm afraid...

(Though some day the weasel claims that Red Scorpion is going to spill the beans on her Ronan encounter)
