Dust Tactics vs. Dust Tactics Revised Core Set?

By ravenwolf64, in Dust Tactics General Discussion

Gurus,

I am a bit confused, under Dust Tactics Base Game link I find both "Dust Tactics" and "Dust Tactics: Revised Core Set"? What is the difference in these, the word 'revised' is throwing me. Since they don't have the same content I assume the $79.95 "Revised Core Set" is not a revision of the more expensive $99.95 "Dust Tactics?" If you owned both there would be no duplication? Thank you for your time and attention. :)

The sets are completely different in content so you will not duplicate and the original set is better value and has the more basic troop types and should be your first buy as its rumoured to being removed from sale. Best bet is to buy both sets though.

Good advice if you have the dosh for both. Getting both sets will provide you a lot of variation in unit choices at the most efficient cost.

Like the Major I would go for the old base set first as it gives you some solid core infantry units and you get four medium mechs. Value wise the old set is much better. You also get the cardstock tiles and more obstacles than the revised set. The revised rules can be downloaded from the support page on this site.

Grab one of the old core sets quick as to my understanding they will not be printing anymore.

Still a fair number of places to pick up the original core set ... and at some great savings too!

I am guessing you are in the USA. E-bay UK sold out of the old core sets earlier this week and I could only find two on Amazon UK. If you are not in the USA and want the old core set. I would pick one up sharpish.

the original core set is getting harder to find. I originally purchased my first set, of the 2 that were ordered by the local hobby shop, but five weeks later the other one was still avalilbe so I grab it too. I've asked the store owner to get me another one but no luck so far.
