Requesting Info on Black Friday

By Stasis, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

I looked through the forum here and didn't find any definite info on what days/times it'll be taking place.

Can anyone tell me the days, times, venue location, and so forth? Found out plane tickets are ridiculously cheap if I order them now and I'm 90% sure I'm going to attend.

Sure hting Stasis.

Black friday will b held on Friday November 25, 2011. In New York City (there is a sligth chance we will sue a different venue, but it will porbably be at the Cranberry Cafe on 45th street)

Time will be @11:30 AM until we finish - but I will let the NYC guys get the thread up with the hard and fast aprticualrs. but at least I cna get you the date and the location. I expect to see a lot more details up very shortly.

Oh - and welcome. this is going to be a pretty big tournament this year.

Just to add to what Chris said...

We haven't had a chance yet to officially "launch" the FFG thread or other promotional material, but will do that soon. In the meantime, I thought I'd let you know we will have the following (AWESOME) prizes:

--Trophy for 1st place

--Vouchers for free chapter packs

--Custom Black Friday deck boxes...one for each house's top player

--Official Black Friday T-shirts for all participants (revised logo and color!)

--Other (sur)prizes to be announced soon

We will also have many travelers. So far, we have a group from Italy, at least a couple players from DC, some players from Boston, and I'm guessing more than 10 players from the NYC area, not including others from Deleware and elsewhere who have expressed interest in (but not committed to) attending. In short, this will be a fantastic event, with some of the best competitors on the East Coast and in Europe.

By the way, I know that Kyle from Boston is planning on attending and will be spending the night either Thursday or Friday night (or both, I forget), and he was looking for a roommate.

Thanks for the info.

My current plan is to arrive the 24th and leave the 26th. Hopefully I'll be able to find plenty of games on the day before / after.

I talk to Kyle almost every day, he already offered me to stay in his room.
