With the old core set going out of print, we have two hero models that "technically" will no longer be available. I'm wondering when the hero models will be available on their own ...

The thing is: do they have to?

I mean, pretty much everybody who plays Dust already has them, and it seems lots of people have multiples of each that they can't really use. People getting into the game in the future, and not buying the original core set, will have two options:

- Buying Joe and Sigrid off e-bay or something. I don't think the price will be too high, considering lots of people have 2 or 3 of each that they don't need.

- Ignoring them. I mean, each faction currently has already 7 heroes, and there are bound to be many, many more. Not having Sigrid and Joe isn't really a big deal in the long run.

But I agree they wouldn't need to worry about it for quite awhile, as it should be a long time before it's difficult to get ahold of them.

Besides, with the latest heroes like Lara dealing 10/1 damage against medium infantry, it's hard to imagine someone who gets into the game in a couple of years actually WANTING poor old Joe with his puny grenade launcher...

I am most interested in getting the heroes like Action Jackson and Grenadier X ..... the models so few people have in their armies.

Saw their pics from Gen Con so I hope they are out early next year.

That is not a good sales motto or scheme. They are not only targeting players who have been aroudn long enough to buy the old set. FFG would rather you give them your mney then for you to buy a old fig off Ebay.

I think the old core set will see a reprint at a later date with the updated rules as it is more appealing to fans who want more basic WW2 feel to the game. If they continue with sets like the new revised one, all the allied armies will be mainly Buzz Lightyear figures with a few infantry joes.

But we will have to see.

I have plenty of Sigrids and Joes if anyone needs one. I am actually considering swapping the lazer rifle out of my Lazer Grenadier Sergeant figures and replacing it with the lazer pistol she carries: not to give it the extra stats, just to make it different.

Anyways, anyone wanting either of these, let me know. I seriously do not know what I will do with all of them.
