Deathwatch Adventures

By theronin, in Deathwatch Gamemasters

I am not real familiar with Deathwatch but I'd like to run it for my group someday. I want to use some published material to make it easier on myself (and they are better at it than me!) but I'll make small changes to fit my players when needed. If you were going to choose one published adventure, which one would you choose and why? I really want something that focuses on what makes Deathwatch different from the other settings. It seems the obvious is playing a space marine but is there something else that I may be missing?

Please let me know the reasons for your choices.

Thanks for the input!

My favorite of the published adventures so far is The Price of Hubris, one of the three adventures bundled into The Emperor Protects.

Of all of the adventures released so far, it's the one that has the most variety in it. Most of the others are simpler and/or more action-oriented, but TPoH allows for a lot of roleplaying situations to come up. Sending a group of massive killing machines to act as diplomats can be fun to watch, especially if your group isn't one of those that responds to every situation with violence. The hunt where the team is forced to use primitive weapons and go without armor is a lot of fun, too. Some of the combat encounters are insanely deadly (I would never recommend using as many Genestealers as the adventure calls for, but YMMV), so you'll probably want to tweak that a bit. Overall, though, I think it's the best of what we've seen so far.
