Seven Swords, Seven Girls

So yeah. I've been having this impulses, compulsions, if you will. I feel compelled to play starter Yoshitora for some unkown reason, and it's starting to mess with my head. Anyway, here's the preliminary deck. Destroy at will!

Air/Good control-ish type deck. Very solid defense (just wish he had access to a strong lifegain card), plenty of momentum generation for his ability, and some fun little tech (Kings Games, Clean Freak, Healer), along with a little anti-meta (Big Cyclone, Amy's, Mysterious Stance). Commit opponent's entire staging area with extreme ease on their turn if they attack once (self E's, reverse into DBlade, big fun), then lay waste to them with Fight or Flight + 10 damage attack of choice on your turn.

Not quite the deck I dreamt I won Worlds with, but not far off. Girlfriends is about the only thing that missed the cut from the dream =/

Ok first off, you see the problem here?

First you need to either pick one symbol to play or add more cards with wind and good on them to your deck.

some suggestion's for foundations that are solid Air/Good are:

Infected: 0/6 +2H and an E: for Darkness Blade
Hwang's Protection: 1/4 +0H for anti-readying tech
Inhuman Senses: 2/5/5 no block, horribly underrated card, basically says "stop attacking me"
9 Lives: 2/6 +1L with a fun E.
Undercover Agent: 3/5 no block. big control card, keeps their recurring abilities under control.

Just some random thoughts:

As Quazark has mentioned, both Infected and Hwang’s are fantastic. Shares both your symbols, rolls 0/6 and 1/4 and provides a speed boost for Darkness Blade.

Undercover Agent is craptastic. For your opponents third activation of an ability, you get to commit two of their cards (Red Lotus notwithstanding). You don’t even get to cancel the ability.

You may get more mileage out of Air Base (again, Air/Good chain). This really is rulings dependant, but both Air Base and Darkness Blade are floating effects. If you can apply the Darkness Blade floating effect before the Air Base floating effect then you’re sorted. If not, it might hinder Air Base in the deck, not sure.

Other than maybe adding Infected+Hwang's, your multisymboling is probably fine. Between Owlface, Lynettes, SoC, Infected, Hwang’s, Healer, White Magic you have ample opportunity to chain (28x multi symbol cards).

Is White Gi proving that useful? Between LotM and White Magic you already have momentum generation. The E: draw is nice but not sure if it’s worth it for that part of the ability alone.

I’d maybe switch the Family Heirloom’s up to main deck. Chains off both your symbols, controls assets and generates momentum.

Fight or Flight into Darkness Blade/Big Cyclone is VERY funny gran_risa.gif

The Yoshi deck I got second at a local tourney with ran the Girlfriend's and Once a Student Now a Soldier. A couple of those+ the GFs= they're not attacks you, or in the case of OASNS, they won't be blocking anything either.

I am fairly certain that it is after the second activation not the third, besides with lord of the makai running around undercover brother is really good, just its symbols arnt great, cept air.

Nope, it is the 3rd activation. I checked on it and found the ruling. I already Informed Andrew and directed him to said info.

Back On Topic: Speed Boosts would be helpful, like Empire's Ruin and Darkhunter of the Night.

i always thought it was they had 2 use it twice as well either way though it stops characters and assets as it says commit any 2 cards

nope the way it's worded says "after your opponent plays an ability, if they have already played that ability at least twice this turn." It checks previous times used, not current amount.
