Mastercrafting a narthecium

By zethliss, in Deathwatch Gamemasters

Guys

One of my players has requested a Mastercrafted Narthecium as a signature wargear item. As the party Apothecary it seems like a reasonable enough request and more fitting for his character than any offensive weapon. I'm a little stuck on what additional benefits this should provide for him as granting an additional +10 to medicae tests brings it to a total of +30.

Any other ideas on how best to provide benefits for this item?

The added damage of a reductor could be of use.

It is an interesting thought but the Reductor is a seperate item with its own requisition cost.

You could go with almost any kind of upgrade.

Some ideas:

The narthecium allows for ten doses of one drug by default, allow it to carry ten doses of three different drugs.

Built in digi weapon

Built in auspex

Built in data slate that grants a bonus to Forbidden Lore: Xenos

Ancient purifiers that increase the potency of any drug or toxin dispensed through the narthecium.

Reduce the time it takes to preform certain actions.

What tools does the player use regularly that would be even better if it saved him some Req? What skills does the Apothacary use that no one else does that can help set him apart?

Don't be afraid to grant only a +5 bonus to a skill instead of a + 10, to medicae in particular. Any bonus is worth having.
