Checking Alignments

By nethru, in Black Crusade

For those of you with the Gencon copies when you check alignments to see if any of them have 5 or more every 10 corruption points do you ignore the Unaligned points or do they count as well? There are a lot more unaligned skills/tallents/abilities etc... and would seem that would always be highest unless someone specifically goes down a certain path.

I was thinking you just look at the 4 big dogs and if none of them are 5+ higher than the other 3 then you just stay unaligned and don't worry about amount of abilities taken that were unaligned?

Thanks.

You only count those advancements from the 4 gods, you don't count the Undivided ones.

Related question, is it three or five advances? It said three somewhere when discussing it...

Also, it seems it's impossible to dedicate a starting Chaos Marine to any god.

It's 5 - 3 is a misprint I believe.

3 seems to be a mistake yeah, its only mentioned once I believe so 5 is the correct number.

Not sure how it would be possible to start aligned to a chaos god, without extra xp from the GM that is.

You don't count your starting advances as far as alignment goes, only the ones you spend xp on.

So a human, starting out with 1,000 could, say, buy the 4 skills aligned to slaanesh or tzeentch at trained as they're only 200xp, leaving them 200xp, but the talent and characteristic advances would require 250, so you're 50 short there.

It is possible to start with 10 corruption through motivations and disgraces, so you could start with an alignment check, but I don't see how you could start with the necessary 5 advances.

Well the book does say its "nigh impossible" to start aligned to a god.

Psyker

10 corruptions point with Passions

spend xp in Logic + Scrutiny + Forbiden Lore (warp) + forbidden lore (daemonology) + forbiden lore (xenos)

Tzeentch, here i am... (yummy cheap Willpower advance)

Indeed, Tarmonius has discovered the 1 god that characters can start dedicated to. Kind of fitting that it is Tzeench, after all, he has planned that you would serve him for the last 16,000 years... gui%C3%B1o.gif

There you go. And you don't even have to be a psyker to do it. Although why you wouldn't be, and aim for a devotion to Tzeentch is beyond me.

agreed ^^

Unless you plan long term, and try to aim for Mark of Tzeentch or Warpsmith to get psy powers with your heretek... oh I hate when I see this kind of stuff...

What is Warpsmith? What page?!??!
