Coordinated attacks

By Rashley, in Battles of Westeros

Of the 3 old optional rules, I started using the now official 'retreat' rules before they became official.

The 'withdrawl' rule looked like it would delay combat too much in the shorter scenarios, so didn't try it much.

The best is 'coordinated attacks'. I havn't had too much use of it yet, but it does look like it gives a lot more tactical options. In some situations, 2 x 3 attacks may be better or worse that 1 x 5. Against units with 'reduction' abilities, the latter is better as you only get 1 reduction. Also, some 1st attacks may retreat the enemy away from your 2nd. Other times it may be more fruitful to go for the double attack option. At least with this option, you can decide which you think will be the most beneficial. Of course, those **** dice never seem to roll right, but at least you feel you are putting in more of your decisions. And that has to be good. Any thoughts on this or other similar options? Cheers!
