Coming Back

By Meeks23, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

Greetings all,

I'm an old AGoT player from the Ice and Fire days and played well into the first 3 LCG expansions before the local community here died. With the success of the TV series and A Dance With Dragons just published a few months back, there's interest on the books, boardgame and the card game.

I'm looking to get a core set along with Targ and Martell deluxe expansions. I just wanted to ask, what cards are standard legal these days? With the fixed nature of the LCG format, are players seeing the same decks?

Thanks.

Products.

If you're looking for a card database, check the links in my signature.

There is a restricted list when you can have one card off the list in your deck, and there are two banned cards. Other than that you are good to go. There are a few decks you see with pretty high frequency...

Lannister: hyper kneel (+/- shadows), trait manipulation, more and more kingsguard (Especially with new Jaime coming out and Deep Den)
Stark: direwolves, hyper military with siege of winterfell, i like to think armies are viable too
Targ: maesters did really well at GenCon, Dragons are really fun in multiplayer, Armies are decent if they manage to get going with their high claim mil and pwr challenges
Baratheon: maesters again, obviously, standard power rush is strong, i like my bara winter nw build, knights is vanilla but fun too
Greyjoy: choke, unopposed, Holy
Martell: vanilla. or KotHH if your good enough to run it apparently.

Then there are tons of other decks you see with lower frequency, like Dayne out of Martell or Tully out of Stark, totally viable. I don't really play tier one tournament play, so I tend to run House Bolton out of Stark a lot and Night's Watch out of Stark and Baratheon. Wildings out of Bara are pretty solid too. Greyjoy/Bara Alliance using the GJ events, vigilant, support of Harlaw, and the big Bara renowners like Esermont/Fat Bob/Smellymelly, Stannis to combine with unopposed is pretty solid too once it gets going.

Lists for banned and restricted cards can be found in the FAQ (link in my signature).

Information completely not useful to you found in my signature.

Thank you Saturnine and Fieras for the help.

It's good to see that the SacTown Mafia is still active.

What's KotHH by the way?

Care to tack on information like card lists / contents per product?

I'm also talking about older stuff too... got any sources for that? (specificaly five kings edition starters... :) )

As mentioned in my first reply, I have some links to card databases in my signature that you might find helpful.
