Best Way to Add 2 Players to the Core Set

By GalaxyUC, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I have the Core boxed set. I need to add two more players in the most inexpensive manner without my player having to share "basic" action cards. What's the most cost effective way? Is it better to buy the Adventurers Toolkit 2x's or buy the Player's Vault 2x's?? Clearly, one costs way more than the other, but the Players Vault only seems to accomodate one (1) player for $40, is this correct?? In either case, I will definitely need some new dice. Any suggestions?

Just to add 2 players, I think the easiest way is to download the basic action reference sheet in the support area ( http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/ffg_content/wfrp/support/players-guide/wfrp-basic-action-reference.pdf ). This is for the basic actions. There is another pdf with "blank cards" if 2 players want to use the same card.

The players toolkit is a good recomendation though, because the new actions, careers and talents.

IMHO, players vault is useless when you have the core, but others may think otherwise.

i agree with chikachikabowwow.

slice up a colour printout of the basic cards and slip them into card sleeves.

if you don't already have the adventurers toolkit it is worth buying regardless, simply for the extra careers.

Bounty Hunter
Dockhand
Ironbreaker
Pit Fighter
Ratcatcher
Scribe
Smuggler
Swordmaster
Wardancer

add in the extra party sheets and talents, i think it is a must have.

Another option is buying a second core set from somewhere relatively cheap (probably online). As well as all the basic cards you need, and a second copy of ALL of the cards you already have - making competition between the players much less fierce, you'll get a lot of new dice. The dice packs seem like a really expensive way to buy more dice to me. 4 sets adds up to almost as much as a (discounted) core set, so you might as well go the whole hog.

I'm sure it's not cheaper than buying a Player's Toolkit (which I too like and recommend), but it compares pretty favourably to getting the player's vault, let alone 2 sets. Considering what you get in it, I think it's a good way to expand the number of players.

Also, you can happily lend out rulebooks to players if they're interested, and keep copies for yourself.

All good suggestions:

* Use the basic action summary sheet instead of the cards
* Buy some extra dice
* Keep the career sheets off the table and just mark your Talent Sockets on your character sheet instead
* Get the Player's Guide. If people absolutely love the cards and you want more, get the player vault.

I thought the players vault has 4 sets of basic cards, does it not?

Just quecked my player's vault and it has 3 sets of basic action cards.
