So I keep hearing about Ghaston Grey...

Ya, I especially like Sansa and Cat with imposter. Sansa because she is cheap, and Cat because you can bounce her to your hand, and still use her in that challenge phase to defend power/intrigue. Spending the Winter Stores is a must plot to get Imposter!, since the deck is dependant on it.

Some day I will make Ashara Dayne, and she will be Stark/Martell so this build will flourish even more.

Martell has 2 other candidates for noble crest: Trystane and Quentyn.

Quentyn I can see as a 4-cost.

Trystane I would see more as a 1 cost 1 pow icon 1 str weenie that has a drawback (so recursing him with GG is not cost-effective).

With GG, Doran becomes an interesting option since you can return him to hand if his effect would ever penalize you.

But Martell definitely needs a few more noble crests. They now have too many effects that require them, that are not used.

The only issue now is that the more they print, the greater the character control of GG. If they print a 1 cost noble, even with a drawback as it comes into/leave from play, would that outweight the benefit of one gold getting rid of someone elses Euron or Drogon or Bobert with 6 power? I think it probably would. Even if it was something like "when x enters/leaves play discard a power from your house." then to be a card playable outside of GG, it has to be balanced, which means it has to have some good quality to it. Therein making it a more-than-balanced card when combined with GG. It just won't happen. Unless of course they restrict it and GG, but I don't think that is the appropriate solution. Even at cost 3, Edric Dayne is a house with GG out. Just start bouncing the expensive cards and your winning a resource war and a half.

~ Haven“t we been used to noble-charachter- free Martell decks since the release of Devious mechinations. ;-)

Actually, Locked in the Tower was the big one. Espeically w/ Arienne who then just stood again anyways (or the 4-cost Red Viper who had Vengeful so usually stood as well). Devious was fun though for sure.

If we get some more triggered effect/response cancel (for other houses than Martell as well - such as the new Alannys), I could see Ghaston Grey becoming a bit less solid... that is quite a big price to pay, if it can be cancelled.

Of course, the fact that He Calls it Thinking is Martell puts a bit of a wrench into this one, but I could see To Be A Kraken being a fun combo with Alannys... ;)

Since Ghaston Grey is a player action, response cancel won't help, and since it's a Location ability, char ability cancel like on the new Bloodrider doesn't help, either.

He's talking about how you can cancel Alannys, not Ghatson.

Partly right, I was talking about how you can cancel GG (heh) with trigger cancels (Alannys, for example) and then push the cancel through the Martell cancels (response, event & trigger cancels). But yeah, badly worded from me anyways. :)
