Idea is to build in your turn, attack on theirs. If not for the fact that it's good for Chun-Li I wouldn't even consider Hoyoku-Sen, actually, since it doesn't REALLY do anything unless you have momentum, but at least it clears itself if it deals damage. Here's an explanation of what's going on.
- Double Gale Fist - Annoyance Level: Relatively Low
Play on their turn to commit things with lots of difficulty. Luckily, things like Chinese Boxing and Chester's Backing fit the bill. Nothing to be OMGamazed at, though, but nice.
- Wind Storm - Annoyance Level: Medium
With two cards possibly in their card pool, blocking this might be hard, plus an added bonus to destroy a foundation if it deals damage is nice.
- Hoyoku-Sen - Annoyance Level: Low to High (varies if you have the momentum)
Without momentum, minor annoyance. Multiple:2 on their turn, though, is kind of disgusting.
- Ira-Spinta - Annoyance Level: Very High
No one wants to eat an Ira-Spinta, much less on their own turn. Basically an MVP in the deck.
- Lord of the Makai - Annoyance Level: Medium - Very High (varies)
Just getting momentum might not be a big issue for the deck (only when Hoyoku-Sen is involved), but the main reason is to use it BEFORE Ira-Spinta's E, in order to get back whatever was put into momentum by the opponent and simply play it next turn.
- Clean Freak + Chinese Boxing/Double Gale Fist - Annoyance Level: High
Commit a foundation with DGF, or whatever else you want with Chinese Boxing, then use Clean Freak to stick it in their momentum. Chinese Boxing is much more targeted, but heck if you manage to commit their Chester's Backing, then LOVELY!
- Chun-Li + any attack on their turn + Nine Lives/Keep Your Cool - Annoyance Level: High
Either Nine Lives or Keep Your Cool gets rid of a non-attack from the opponent's card pool. Nine Lives puts it in momentum, Keep Your Cool discards it. Added bonus to Keep Your Cool is that if they only attacked this turn, it forces them to play a non-attack card as their next form, not to mention that they still have to try to block this attack.
- Lord of the Makai (from hand) + Kabuki Artist - Annoyance Level: High
Drew no other attacks? Drew ONLY attacks? No problem! As long as you control your momentum, you can fetch anything you want from the discard pile, such as that Ira-Spinta that you checked turn 1 grrr.
- Tag Along - Annoyance Level: Moderate
Not only can you fetch it with Kabuki Artist later, but it also helps deal with the occasional CHUN-LI, as well as promo Alex and other things. AND it helps you get that Ira-Spinta that you checked turn 1 grrr.
