last game we didn't know how to resolve these 2 situations...

1- the troll is in the valley of fire space and he's got the talisman.

the sorceress, in her turn, uses an acquisition spell to steal the talisman from the troll.

the troll, at his next turn: a- can go on in the crown of command space...

b-must go back and find another talisman...

2- the troll is in the plain of peril space.

the ghoul enters the portal of power and ends his movement in the plain of peril.

now: a-the ghoul's turn ends immediately

b-can the ghoul encounter the troll in the plain of peril?

You need Talisman to move to Valley of Fire, once there, you're "safe". So option A. Best time to nick a Talisman is when a char enters WW/Pits, or has finished either of those spaces (can't recall the cast requirement, i.e. timing, for Acquisition, you might be able to cast it at the start of the turn a char is about to enter Valley), at the end of your turn, plop down Destroy Magic, to prevent him from using Spells and Magic Objects until your next turn, so they need to backtrack all the way to Plain of Peril.

Option B. Plain and Valley are the only 2 spaces where characters encounter each other in the Inner Region (and CoC naturally). In fact, rules say they MUST encounter another char in those spaces. In a recent game, Thief won by hopping into the Magic Portal and exiting at Plain of Peril to nick Troll's Talisman.
