Just got Battle for the Ruby Ford and all the cards are black bordered. Is it just me, or are these much more aesthetically pleasing than the white bordered ones? I can tell the difference between card types (the chain on items stand out better, as well as the parchment backdrops) and the cards just look better all together. What'd you guys think?
Black bordered cards
I actually prefer the ones with white borders. They look more pleasing to me. And they don't look as messy as the black-bordered ones do when the edges start to fray a little after some use.
Yea, I can see how that might be nicer. But I personally still prefer the black ones where the title-border stands out a bit more.
I have mixed feelings. I like the black border as it makes the colors pop a bit more for me. But since the vast majority of LCG cards are white-bordered, I'm just used to it now. It sets it apart from other card games I play, like Magic. And while black can show chips and dings faster, white can show oils and dirt faster.
Still, I think I lean toward the white.
+1 on the black borders. Heck, I even see other games and am jealous. They just looked more...um...professional or something it seemed.

+1. on black borders, too. Rings i think we both share the animosity for the white borders because we played other games before. Especially in the older ccg´s like MTG and SW:CCG the white bordered cards were always the cheap reprints and looked so ugly in your deck with all the other black bordered cards.
But even without this experience i think the black border is something like a frame to a goodartwork where the white border is not.
+1 for black borders, of course. Everytime I search through my old CCG cards, I have to *SIGH*. Deeply.
+1 on black borders, the cards look way better
Put me down for preferring White borders, for a more professional look, rather than black borders that seem to be trying too hard to be cool.
Not this argument again.
If you like black borders just take a magic marker and fix your white-bordered cards.
If you like white borders just take a playboy and fix your black-bordered cards.
Argument solved.

I´m over it. ~But it was a regular question asked by a new player so i took the chance to write an answer ... ;-)
