Whose House Run's House

By lalchant, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

So, to all of our shock and amazement, Baratheon maesters won worlds. We all knew the deck was there, we all tested and played against the deck, we all decided that it was too vulnerable to really compete. In the aftermath of this disorientingly shattering victory, what are we to think? In other words, Whose House Run's House?!?!

Personally, I think Martell is the way to go. They have numerous restricted cards, an answer for everything, and are just all-around solid. What do you guys think? Which house is the best, which house is the weakest? Has anyone had a change of heart since worlds? Why? Also, does anyone know what this rash on my balls could be????

I still think Martell is the best choice from what I've seen. Though I have not played against the Robert deck.

Right now, I think it is Martell.

Lannister will probably catch up or surpass it with the new box though.

There's a tiny Edit button next to the Reply # and Published Date/Time, but I think there's a limited time in which you are allowed to edit.

I used Martell shadows against a Robert build an managed to win using an early Black Cells and Syrio + 2 VB and 2 Lost Oasis early. Can't say I would come out on top more than 50/50 though.

Being new to these boards, I was about to post this question myself, but it looks like it's been done for me. I'm considering getting into the game and I'm interested in faction balance. From the (admittedly little) I've read, I get the feeling that Martell are considered by most the 'top' house by now, and Targaryan is somewhat lacking. How far apart does that make them in a game such as this, and where do the other houses fall? How much stronger is Martell than the next strongest, etc?

Additionally (and if this should be its own thread, so be it), how do mirror matches generally play out in this game? Does it depend heavily on which deck is mirroring (I.E. a Martell Summer deck vs itself is a much different thing than a Greyjoy 'unopposed' deck vs itself)?
