New Paolo Parente Fantasy Game Anastyr

By Chimaera, in Dust Tactics General Discussion

While not about Dust tactics I picked this up on the Dakka Dakka forum and it looks like it could be interesting, so thought I would share. I wonder if it will be a wargame like DT or if it will be more of a dungeon crawl?

The figures look pretty awesome apart from the over sized weapons and this style spoils them a bit in my opinion and I hope they change them to more realistic ones, also the horses don't look quite as dynamic as their mounts (hopefully the will be redone).

Anyone have anymore info on the game?

sculpts remind me of confrontation. wonder how the rules will be.

Good find. Nice to see Paolo work on other things too.

So far the figures look pretty cool. Though I do wonder about the protection provided by "Bikini-Mail".....Was she using a Broad-Sword? happy.gif

+1 for you if you get the reference.

Considering he illustrated for the Confrontation line at least as far back as '96 I'm not surprised. Hopefully he learned all the right lessons from the C:AOR mess.

Munchkin, Hano -- too easy. ;)

Personally, I think it looks way too standard. Fantasy with bikini-mail and giant swords is done to death and beyond. You might argue that the same goes for World War 2 in all shapes and forms, weird and not, though...

I was looking for "The Gamers: Dorkness Rising" though now that I think of it Munchkins does indeed work.

While I think they could do with a bit of tweaking in the weapons and animal department. There is always room for awesome sculpted Fantasy miniatures bikini mail and all. Sort of reminds me of the old Conan films which works for me.

It would be good if Mr Parente could get an entry up on Boardgamegeek to give an overview of the game.
