Stuck between Greyjoy and Martell

By Aughndibi, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

I'm still fairly new to the game, and I'm having trouble deciding whether to buy either the Martell or Greyjoy expansions. I know I want to buy one of them, but I'm not sure which one would be better. I'm playing against a group that is mostly using Stark, Baratheon, and Targaryen, and we usually play with all four of us in Melee. I like Greyjoy more on a personal level, but the lack of Intrigue worries me. I suppose I could fix that by adding neutral cards that use Intrigue. The other thing is, Martell seems to offer more options in term of strategy by using cards that remove icons from characters, and some of the revenge effects are pretty nice. Martell seems like it might be more efficient, but the bonuses for unopposed challenges with Greyjoy is very tempting. I was wondering if anyone here with more experience with the game had any advice as to which one would be better. Thanks!

Simply, if you like to attack, raid and destroy your opponents by sheer force of will and scary strength, pick Greyjoy. If you like to treat the game as a deadly counter-attacking chess match where the more aggro you take brings you more opportunities to poison someone, pick Martell.

Both are good houses, but if you're playing primarily melee, I personally think that the ability of Greyjoy to capitalize on unopposed challenges against any foe who is busy elsewhere is way more fun.

I think you'll be more satisfied with Greyjoy. Martell's box is good, but some of the power cards (Game of Cyvasse, Venomous Blade, Burning in the Sand) are from chapter packs. The GJ box has some very good melee cards (Scouting Vessel, Iron Mines, stealthy guys).

In relation to this does anyone know when the Greyjoy expansion will be back in stock?
