Maximum player limit of 5?

By Shatteredfaith, in Mansions of Madness

So my regular gaming group has 6 players, I have played MoM up at a gaming store seperate from them and it was a blast....but we have an obvious problem of being over the limit.

From my memory of the game (this was like 6 months ago so bear with me) the keeper gets threat = to the number of players...but nothing else is really modified by number of players.

Would this game be playable with 6 people? Iv got some cash and really want to give this game a whirl but im not going to bother if 5's the limit because X doesnt work with 6.

Dude, it's a board game. Rules is adjustable and you can modify them as you wish.

If you still haven't bought the game yet because of that poor reason - I think you dont want that game much and just looking for a reason to not get it. You should look for another game.

I would say, go ahead and buy Mansion of Madness. The game is going to come, with eight Investigators Kate, Sister Mary, Ashcan, Gloria , Jenny, Harvey , Joe and Michael . So you won't need any extra investigators. However, you are going to need, extra Damage, Horror and skill tokens for the game and you may need extra threat tokens as well. To do this, I would get in contact with Fantasy Flight Games and ask them, if there is any way you may purchase or receive some extra Damage, Horror , skill and threat tokens. and let them know you want to run a six player game.they may also have a tip or two for you. Pass that, you should be ready to go. Gather all friends and a have a good six player game with Mansion of Madness.

tip: if your running a six player game and you are planing on being the keeper. Try not to kill the Investigators off too quickly. They won't see the fun in it. and just end up hating the game. Instead, mess with heads by teasing them. by plague them with Mythos and Trauma cards throughout most of the game, then once your closer to the end. you may began wiping them out. If you so wish.

Also you might, want to stay away from the first scenario "The fall of house Lynch" Seeing, how it might be a bit too easy for Investigators with a five Investigators in the game.

Thank you for the advice, Blackzero.
