Many cards read: 'Use this ability only if there are no cards in shadow'. Does this mean all players' shadow or just my shadow area?

If the text doesn't specify a player's shadows area, you have to look at shadows in general. For instance. your opponents having cards in shadows will keep your Robert Baratheon (KL) or your Knight of Flowers (KL) from being a beast.
