Question RE: New Edition?

By naturezmoon, in Talisman

I and a large number of my friends ground our teeth on Talisman 2nd Edition, yet when the 3rd Edition was released, we LOVED it. The art style, the expansions, the mechanics.

We seem to think that FFG's 4th Edition was more designed around the 2nd Edition when we tried it...and none of us play today.

Don't suppose something along the lines of 3rd Edition's mechanics might be designed in the near future...?

Well if you prefer 3rd edition, then I think you will be out of luck. Revised 4th is predominantly 2nd edition but with some parts of 3rd edition. The majority of older players hate the 3rd edtion compared to the 2nd edition, me included lol

Hey Naturez Moon,

I am a third edition fan too gui%C3%B1o.gif

The mainboard from talisman 4th revised edition is indeed based on the 2th edition version.

The board was already made by black industries in the past, and FFG has improved it a little and also the rules and more things.

When i bought the game, i was not so very happy that some spaces on the board have changed compared to 3th edition, especially the inner region

BUT, fantasy flight has released the Highland and dungeon expansion already, and they follow the idea from talisman third edition.

Fantasy Flight has also made the dragon expansion, that will be released soon, and we get finally a dragon tower, so that we can update our board to t 3th edition

I must say that talisman revised edition is better than the 3th edition version now.

I have never play 2th edition, but when i say the boards, i did not like that large city, and the dungeon. It takes too much spaces on the table..

The Dragon expansion from 2th was the only expansion that i have miss in 3th edition.

Fantasy Flight did a good job, and i hope that more expansions will be released! gui%C3%B1o.gif

Interesting. There are some aspects to the third edition that I like but generally I prefer 2nd/4th. It is cool to see somebody who is into the third edition though.
