Landing on a gate

By Jenna, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

I'm brand-new to this game and have a question that I can't find the answer to in the rulebook. I'm probably just being blind, since it seems to be a pretty well-organized book.

If a character lands on a location with a gate, do they immediately get sucked into it and end their movement on the first half of the Other World? Or, do they stay on the location and draw a location card during the "Doing Stuff" phase, and then go to the Other World during the movement phase of the next turn?

During the "Arkham Encounters" phase they get sucked through instead of having an encounter. Note that the "Other-world Encounters" phase is after the "Arkham Encoutner" phase so you still have an other world encounter that turn.

More generally, they do not enter gates during the Movement phase. They do exit gates during the Movement phase, though.

Got it. Thanks!

Because when else will I have the opportunity to use that face?

::laughter:: new expansions announcements. Sweet memories of past games. People reacting at Tibs intention to create new Doom miniatures if only he could get a certain miniature-making machine someone posted something about some months ago babeo.gif But yeah, it's a funny face, should be used more often ::laughter::

Edit: Tibs finishing the new series of his custom Doom scenarios could induce using that face more than once... babeo.gif babeo.gif babeo.gif
