Just taking a break from playing this game to say that I'm enjoying it a lot. Love the looks graphics, the scenery, the character models all look great, give a very nice 40K feel to it. Love the controls, it's not so much a shooter as a cross between melee game like dynasty warriors and a shooter, which i think was a very good idea. The TPS and FPS is totally saturated these days and it makes it stand out nicely.

I'm fighting the Ork boss now, and have to say that while I've died a number of times, the battle itself has been so enjoyable that I don't mind it so much.
I wrecked him after one death. Two words: melta gun!

I think this guy is doing a pretty good kneel:-
And the Gears of War boys are similarly bulky, so I think they could do something.
Considering they've bene doing alot to stand out from gears wouldn't it be a bit stupid to make it cover based? I think most space marines suffer a bit from hubris, not to mention that squatting in that armor doesn't really seem possible. He's able to kneel and pray, yes, but not crouch.
So far I love the game, both singelplayer and multiplayer. Been having a blast!
Just finished on normal. Vastly entertaining.
It really is a mix of melee and shooting - in the best bits you are gunning down dudes at long distance, meleeing some other dudes, then running backwards to gun down some more dudes until they get in to close combat.
So I don't know - I'd kind like a cover system and a more indepth melee system in the sequel but to be honest the mix that is there worked pretty well.
I would like a block button and maybe some combos that depend on hitting the attack button in a particular rhythm, like in The Force Unleashed or Devil May Cry (like Tap-Pause-Tap-Pause-Tap giving a different combo that just hammering the attack button).
The jetpack is great fun. I'd love an open world game where you could just jetpack around an enviroment.
The current Warlord Titan design looks like ass compared to the original beetleback (which is what got me in to 40k/Adeptus Titanicus in the first place). I'd have loved it if the Titan actually, yknow, got outside.
I can't say enough how awesome it is that they used British voice talent. Not just the principles, but the Guardsmen and the audio logs (the one with the two manufactorium workers was actually Pretty Grim, all told, but I seem to have missed the last skull of that arc). The ork voices could have been more orky (except the warboss, who was sufficiently orky).
There is an advert for Deathwatch in the back of the manual. Good to see.
So all in all highly recomended to 40k fans.
The likelihood for a Space Marine special promo pdf just gone up. I only wonder why they don't coordinate better and release such promos at the time of the release of the actual thing or at least close enough.

Agreed, I don't like the new design at all. It WAS still impressive to see, though. My daughter was blown away when I walked into the hanger & looked up at it.
Completed the single player campaign recently, enjoyed it from begining to end. It's a good game on it's own merit's, certainly has things that most shooters don't. For a 40K nut it's a must.
Cant say I really missed the crouch button that much in the single player campaign. But in the multiplayers it falls into a more standard game most of the time. Except that the presence of jump pack marines goes much of the way to freeing it of the tyanny of the sniper, well that and the fact that marines are pretty obvious.
There's a lot I could say would be a nice addition for another game, more classes, more weapons, Terminators and the IP's barely been scratched. They could double their enemy types without even changing races. Sadly it sounds like they won't be making another as Dark Millenium is out 2013. But here's hoping that that'll delay it rather than rule it out completely.
The downloadable coop mode is available on the 25th of the Month, looking forward to that.
