Third ed and Second ed Careers in Fantasy Roleplay

By Daeion, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Does anyone see anyway of converting the HUGE list of careers from the second ed for use with the third ed version of Fantasy roleplay?

There are a few specific careers that i wanted to use (alchemist and some of the high elf ones of the top of my head)

Any suggestions? Or is it just a case of waiting for the careers to be released in the 3rd ed?

Thanks

Done. See my HR book. Each career was given an equivalent 3e career and the player just changes the theme. It's actually easier than going backwards to 2e becuase 3e has such a more refined set of skill definitions. Now, I didn't cover some that just dont' need covering (dung collectors, chimneysweeps, etc), but the intermediate and true advanced careers all have a place.

Over the years, i messed with charts and all kinds of crap but found it just to be redundant and unecessary. Since this is a roleplaying game, you just change the theme and if the player wants to tweak a thing or two, let them.

Emirikol,

That is briliant! Thank you so much this will work perfectly! Great work too, thanks for the help and for sharing it!

Really well done Emirikol.

I d like to share my house rules with you (I tried to fix some rules using my 22 yrs old rpg experience) but I m afraid I would make too many error translating from italian to english.

The same problem prevents me to help in the great Liber Fanatica.

So in the end I continue to keep all my WISDOM for myself! happy.gif

Don't let language be a barrier to writing for LF. There might be someone out there that isn't a great writer but is great (or at least good) with Italian->English translations and that would be their way of contributing. Or perhaps you simply work closely with a native English speaker who clarifies your ideas and if they are good ones, we would love to see them in LF!

I agree with Jason, madpoet. Write up your stuff and submit it anyway. Send an Italian version, and maybe even just a partially translated English version. I'm sure there is someone willing to help translate. Or, as suggested, just work closely with someone to help translate. After all, it is easier to translate a subject if you can discuss the meaning, rather than just translating words on a page.

i went to pick up your HR book and it's not there.... can you please post another link to it?
