Two rules clarifications (Tywin, Lannisport Steward, weaponsmith )

By SerArthurDayne, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

With cards like tywin lannister, lannisport steward and weaponsmith and locations like the searoad and gold road, does the +1 or +2 gold from these cards be used to marshall characters into play

Like for example I was told the gold on tywin lannister cant be used to marshall characters or locations into play, also that it would stay on him even during taxation phase.....does this also apply toe the gold road and the weaponsmith, counsiller, steward characters that get a +1 gold or +2.

Also a question about Ser Jacelyn bywater, it says he is immune to character abilities, would this include being immune to deadly

thank you

The councilor and weaponsmith add to the amount of gold you count at the marshalling phase. Just like gold road or crossroad and plot cards. after it gets counted you treat it like any other gold, spend how you would normally, count at dominance normally, gets discarded at taxation as normally. No restrictions to just locations or characters.

Tywin is a bit special. Basically he creates his own "pool" of gold (himself). the gold on him, again can be spent just like gold in your gold pool, no restrictions. the main difference is, for dominance you count the gold on your gold pool. Since the gold on him is not in your gold pool, it is not counted.
And for taxation, you empty your gold pool. Since any gold on him is not in your gold pool, it is not discarded.

Basically its like this. Once the gold gets into your "Gold Pool" (whether you count it during marshaling or it gets dumped in some how), it is treated like any other gold you would get. no restrictions.
I don't where you got the idea that some gold can only be spent on characters/locations, the only mechanic like that are the cost reducing locations (fiefdoms, etc.) and even then gold tokens aren't really a factor.

Oh, and technically deadly is a "Keyword" not a "Character Ability" so he is not immune to it.

What Oshi said. But keep in mind that Tywin, through his card text, creates an exception. Usually, gold on characters cannot be spent as if it were in your gold pool.

So I could use the gold on twin lannister to pay for the cost of gilded plate for example as well ?
