Collecting and Playing only some Factions

By Nikator, in Call of Cthulhu Deck Construction

I'm just starting to take a look at Cthulhu and have bought some stuff. In general i'm more interested to have more cards of a faction/house/however it is called, then to have a little bit of all, if i'm trying not to sink too much money into a specific LCG.

With A Game of Thrones LCG it works very well, within my small group we are playing different houses and concentrate on house expansions and trading the different houses if buying chapter packs. After all, we don't think that not having every neutral card or theme at the disposal of each player does hamper our play, as there are enough deck building possibilities within a house.

So, how it is with CoC? How important a neutral cards, because this is the stuff, that could not be distributed to every player if following that scheme.

Any suggestions how to splitt up the factions (with silver twilight) between two or three players (not for one game only, but for continously restricting to collect and play them only).

Regarding how to split factions between players, you should first read the overview article about factions on this site, then pick the ones that appeal most to you. If you cannot decide, then splitting the cards obviously won't work for you.

Right now I'd consider Miskatonic, Syndicate, and the Silver Lodge to be pure support factions. Any other faction works well as the main (or only) faction for a deck. Agency and Cthulhu are factions that work well with little experience in deck building, Hastur and Yog require some more thought, imho.
