By Mykel The Vile, in 4. AGoT Deck Construction

Had a great sesh tonight.

This was my first dabble at making/copying a deck build.

I used the example Tully deck sheet from out the LOW expansion, I managed to get most of the cards I needed bar 1 x2 plot of power of blood and Bodyguard attachment.

Wow, I smashed em to bits, what a deck. We're all still quite new to the game and LCG as well but cripes ! They never knew what hit em.

I tell you what, the plot "Family,Duty,Honor" had them pulling there hair out and the icing on the cake was the splendid Riverrun location card. (if you can come through challanges unscathed)

I dont know what I enjoyed the most tonight, playing with my new deck build or watching three of my friends moan and argue in desperation as there decks got utterly and completely smashed, mullered and peppered. And the speed in which I managed to amass power.

Played 4 won 4. Great stuff. Winterfell !

Tullys are a pretty strong build compared to other builds from the core set because they have a lot of synergy - Hoster, Guard at Riverrun, Blackfish, Knights of the Red Fork, Edmure's Host etc. allow you to dump lots of cheap crap on the table and whack your opponents multiple times per turn, then still be able to defend. They aren't Tier 1 competitive (they're too unsubtle and straightforward), but played properly (i.e. with proper protection for your Blackfish), they can put up a good fight.

What do you mean by proper protection for Balckfish.

Bodyguard + duplicate maybe ?

Cheers

Crown of Winter does wonders too.

And a Nymeria wouldn't hurt.

For protecting the Blackfish, you have a number of options (I'll include those already mentioned for completeness)

- duplicate(s) If you go this route, don't forget about Widow's Watch. There are plenty of additional neat tricks with this (search for itself when it enters play, search for Riders of the Red Fork at any time, search discard pile with Galbart Glover out) Also remember that duplicates can save not only from kill and discard, but also from return to hand and shuffle into deck.

- Bodyguard; plenty of great Stark lords and ladies

- The Power of Blood; depending on how many nobles you have in your deck

- Eddard Stark TTotH; protects nobles (including itself) and might snag you some card draw, but usually acts more as a deterrent

- Nymeria

- Crown of Winter; stylish AND effective

- Paper Shield; can cancel a number of events

Thanks, I can get hold of Widows Watch today I think.
